It was early morning. I had to get from Bondi Beach in Sydney to the outer western suburb of Smithfield.
As the delayed train pulled out of the city the clock said 8:42am. It was a 30- minute journey and a 10-minute walk to the training venue.
I was going to be late for the 9am start.
It was a time management training and I was the trainer.
I experienced the whole spectrum of emotion from anxiety to impatience, and from frustration to dread.
How on earth was I going to cover this one? There was no way out. Or was there…
That’s where this flip chart came in handy. As soon as it occurred to me to use this I relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the train ride.
See if you can guess how I used it. This also represented another fantastic way to engage trainees right from the get go.
In fact, this flip chart worked so well, I slept in and was deliberately late the next day, so I could do it again; time management training at it’s best.
How would you use this flip chart in a training program…
